Syed Badrul Ahsan is an independent journalist. He went to school in Quetta, Pakistan, and later did his Higher Secondary Certificate examination from Notre Dame College, Dhaka. He studied English literature at Dhaka University.
He has worked for several newspapers in Bangladesh. At present, he writes for a number of newspapers and journals in Bangladesh, India and Britain.
He has taught English language and literature at various levels — school, college, university — in Bangladesh.
Ahsan is the author of a few works, among which are the biographies — From Rebel to Founding Father: Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Glory and Despair: The Politics of Tajuddin Ahmad.
He divides his time between Dhaka and London.
