Rasheda K. Choudhury
Ms. Rasheda K. Choudhury is a leading policy voice in Bangladesh with more than two decades of experience working within and outside the government. Holding a Master’s Degree in English (Dhaka University), she has been serving since 1999 as CEO of CAMPE, the national education coalition of more than a thousand NGOs, researchers, and educator groups in Bangladesh.
Ms. Choudhury was Adviser (Minister) in 2008 in the non-party Interim Caretaker Government of Bangladesh and was in charge of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, and Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Her involvement in the government’s decision-making process, even for a short period, gained recognition for the education campaigners in the country. The pro-learner, pro-quality reforms that she introduced were later accepted and continued by the elected government.
Ms. Choudhury is a Co-Founder of GCE and an elected member of CCNGO Coordination Group of UNESCO. She is Member Secretary of Education Watch which regularly reviews the implementation status of SDG4 in Bangladesh.
